The band was founded in the spring of 2003 by Bobby “Kosatkata” Mudolov, who to this day is it’s lead vocalist and main artistic drive. After several line-up changes, Der Hunds rock the stage with Martin Evstatiev playing the bass, Deyan Petkov on the lead guitar and Ivo “Piffa” Petrov behind  the drums. All the members have previous musical experience but coming together as DER HUNDS turned out to be the right formula.

During the years DER HUNDS were not only appraised by the Bulgarian audience but left their mark internationally as well. On the 16th of May 2011 the band won 1st place among 312 bulgarian and international bands in a competition awarding the winner a chance to play at ELEVATION Festival 2012. There DER HUNDS warmed-up the stage for artists among which: Cypress Hill, Erykah Badu and Sean Paul.

Since 2011 DER HUNDS participate in “Flower for Gosho” an annual festival dedicated to the Bulgarian rock legend George Minchev. The band also had the chance to play on bigger stages nationally, participating in Spirit of Burgas 2011,2013 and Sofia Rocks 2012 where they played among names in the industry like Guns’n’Roses, Ugly Kid Joe, Kaiser Chiefs and Within Temptation.

In 2013 the band was chosen by the audience of Z-Rock Radio to participate in the competition “Bulgaria’s green song” and recorded the song “Diva Ptitza” (Wild Bird) with which the band won the most original text award.

Furthermore DER HUNDS won  1st place twice in the ”Golden spring 2016” pop and rock competition of the Bulgarian National Radio with their song “Spomen” which will be a part of their upcoming studio recorded album.

The very same year this award gave the guys from DER HUNDS the possibility to show-off their music for the world renowned Dutch Eurosonic-Noorderslag festival in Groningen. There they win yet another prize in front of a packed venue at the legendary Huise Maas in the heart of Groningen.

During the fall of 2017 DER HUNDS gave their respect to the legendary Chris Cornell with a number of tribute concerts around major cities in Bulgaria under the flag of the Promise to survive campaign supported by the World Health Organization.
At the end of November the New York band FUN LOVIN CRIMINALS chose DER HUNDS to warm-up the stage for their concert in Sofia on December, 17, thus solidifying they image as one of the most popular names on the Bulgarian rock stage and all this while they are finishing their third album.

The future looks bright for the guys from DER HUNDS
